Main Events for 2018 are now announced

The Nailsworth Festival Committee is now able to announce the main features of the 2018 Festival. As ever, there will be entertainment and a market in the town on Festival Saturday (19th May) and then a week of acts, talks and activities designed to appeal to all.

The Temperance Seven, on their Diamond Jubilee Tour, will headline on Festival Saturday evening. Events across the week will feature the Tippett Quartet, “Votes for women in the Cotswolds”, Richard Eyre, Withering Looks comedy theatre, latin music and much more.

But the Festival is about much more than the major events with activities, exhibitions and workshops running across the week.

There is Funky Munky Music for very young children; a Footie Fest for youngsters between 8 and 16 and ‘Riding the Bounds’ for horse riders of all ages. A number of exhibitions will be held including ‘Education in Nailsworth’ and a ‘Quilt Show with Musical Interludes’. There will also be an exhibition by the artist John Furnival, as featured in last month’s edition of Nailsworth News. Stroudwater Textiles will be opening Gigg Mill and Dunkirk Mill.

Nailsworth Festival and Twitter

After many months when we have been unable to tweet, we have managed to regain access to our Twitter account. We will be using this increasingly in the run up to the 2018 festival to publicise the exciting events on our programme. Apologies to those who used to follow us and had given up on us.

New website

After eleven years with essentially the same website, we have decided to modernise and make it a bit more friendly for smartphone users. Inevitably, there will be some changes for users of PCs, but we have tried to keep some of the old features so that users feel at home. We hope you can find your way about and that you like the non-fussy, straightforward design of the new offering.
